Guava Diseases:

1-Physiological Disease

A-Zinc deficiency:

Symptoms:

          -Leaves were undersize.
-Dieback of terminal branches.

Control:

          Use    KELKAT Zinc 15%

2-Fungal Disease

A- Leaf spot


the casual organism:    
cercospora psidii

Symptoms:

          -Water-soaked patches under the leaf

          - By the disease progress, the spots become large with brown edge.

 Control:

          Use    AMISIAR   40cm/100 L.W

 

B- Sooty mould

Symptoms:

          -The leaves appear completely covered with black mould. With high level of humidity, the fruit infected with the black mould and become unmarketable.

Control:

          Use    CHALLENGER   40cm/100 L.W

C- Alga

The casual organism:   Cephaleuros virescens.

Symptoms:

-Small spots on the leaf surface, and fruits.

          -By the increasing the humidity, the affected tissue on the leaf surface die.

Control:

          Use    COBOX      250g/100 L.W

D- Fruit Rot

The casual organism:   Phomopsis SPP    Botryodiplodia SP.

Symptoms:

-Dark brown, water socked on the fruit.

-Circular spots appear at the blossom end of the immature green fruits.

-Infected fruits become unmarketable.

Control:

          Use    AMISTAR 40cm /100 L.W

 

Insects on Guava

 

 

1-Fruit fly

The casual organism:   Ceratitis Capitata.

Symptoms:

-Ripe fruits will be founds infested with the larvae and totally unusable.

Control:

          Use

                   Actellic       150cm /100 L.W

 

2-Scale Insects

Symptoms:

          -The adults were found on leaves and branches.

          -Sooty mould completely covered the infected leaves.

          -The affected leaves may drop on the floor.

Control:

          Use    Actellic       150cm /100 L.W
